Steffi Park Eger
Art has been a part of my life since I can remember. When I was eight years old, I told my mom that I was going to be an artist when I grew up. My parents enrolled me in an art class to see if I was serious, and I have been studying art ever since. I took private art lessons through high school, and in my undergraduate work, studied commercial art and graphic design. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a Commercial Art concentration. I developed a love of photography, and in my graduate work, studied that craft and honed my skills with the camera and in the darkroom. In 2009, I completed a Master of Arts in Humanities with a Fine Art emphasis. My present work is centered mostly in oil painting and black and white photography – unless inspiration strikes me to create something in a different medium! I have taught art lessons, both privately and in the classroom setting for 20 years.
I have no choice but to make art. It comes from inside me, inspired by nature, my mood, and my inner thoughts. My goal is to show others not only what I see in the world, but more importantly, how I see the world.
